November 21, 1942 - April 28, 2019
Joseph A. Flaga, age 76 of Washington Township, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home.
He was born November 21, 1942 to John J. And Catherine V. (Cleaver) Flaga in Mount Clemens, Michigan. On April 8, 1967 Joseph was united in marriage with Joy Henwood at St. Veronica Catholic Church in East Detroit.
Mr. Flaga served in the United States Army from 1962 - 1965. He was employed in production engineering at General Motors for thirty five years until his retirement in 2001. Joseph was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Mount Clemens, and did volunteer work at church.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; children, Michael Flaga, Kimberly Duda; grandchildren, Madeline and Megan Duda; siblings, Shirley Roland, Leslie (Sylvia) Flaga, Mary Jane (Kenneth) DeCueninck, Barbara (Charles) Peltier, Phyllis (Henry) Miller; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, John and Catherine, and infant brother, John.
A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. (in state 9:00), Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with Father Michael N. Cooney officiating.
