Mrs. Yvonne M. Dowrie, age 83 of Harrison Township, passed away Wednesday morning at Church of Christ Assisted Living in Clinton Township.
She was born on January 1, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Jerome and Edmonda (DeSmidt) Pattyn. On July 17, 1987, Yvonne was united in marriage with Bruce Dowrie.
Yvonne was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed long rides, dancing, reading and boating.
Mrs. Dowrie is survived by her husband, Bruce; 13 children, Louis (Nadine) Jock, Suzanne (David) Girard, Jeanne (John) Crowl, Dianne (Rand) Kredell, Renee (Justin) Garska, David (Shannon) Jock, Yvonne (Michael) Hoffman, Lorraine Lowther, Christine White, Judith (Katherine) Dowrie, Cheryl Zurbrick, Suzanne Pavlak, and Bruce Dowrie; 35 Grandchildren and 46 Great Grandchildren. Also survive, her sister, Diane Hankins and sister-in-law Mary Holder. Yvonne was predeceased by siblings, Doris Barnes and Andre Pattyn, and her first husband, Louis Jock.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 3-9:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, with a Scripture Service at 4:00 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. (in state at 10:30 a.m.) at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss at Metro Parkway, Harrison Township with Monsignor Ricardo E. Bass officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Clinton Township.
