William Russell
Stroup
Oct 17, 1940 — May 3, 2021
William Russell Stroup, age 80 of Mount Clemens, passed away May 3, 2021 at his home. He was born October 17, 1940 to Hasem and Dorothy Stroup in Harrison Township, Michigan.
Mr. Stroup was employed by the City of Mount Clemens and Hazel Park, until his retirement at the age of 62. Post- retirement, Bill enjoyed his work as a bus driver within Macomb Intermediate Schools. He would always talk about how happy and friendly the children were. He reluctantly gave up his position because of the physical demands required assisting the students on/off the bus each day. He enjoyed doing oil painting, artwork, studying history, especially World War II, watching boxing matches, Laurel and Hardy, and classic black and white movies, his favorite being "Christmas Story". For many years, he was a member of the Old Crowd and loved participating in parade, boat rides and picnics during summer reunions.
William is survived by his son, Mark (Donna) Stroup; daughter, Kelly Stroup, and grandchildren, Phillip, Mason and Myla. Mr. Stroup was predeceased by his dog, China, and two brothers, Tom Stroup and Jerry Stroup.
