Mrs. Virginia Fester, age 81 of Sterling Heights, passed away Saturday morning in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 2, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Hughes) Bevins. Jenny was united in marriage with Richard Hicks in 1954. Later, she was united in marriage with William Fester on December 31, 1968. Mr. Fester passed away on April 3, 2001 in Lakeland, Florida. She had lived in Sterling Heights since 1969.

Virginia's greatest joy was her family. She also enjoyed golfing, painting, cooking, gardening and crafting.

Surviving are seven children; Richard (Melanie) Hicks, Randall Hicks, Robyn (Alex) Macko, Rodney (April) Hicks, Lora Virostick, Craig (Sandra) Fester and Kevin Fester; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three siblings, Earl (Nancy), William (Carol) and Harold (Patricia) Bevins. Virginia was predeceased by a sister.

Visiting hours are on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Reynolds officiating. Private cremation will follow. Virginia's cremated remains will be buried in McCaffarty Cemetery in Bruce Township.
