Theodore Leonard Petri Jr. passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024. Ted was born to Theodore and Eleanor Petri on May 30, 1947. He graduated from Shrine High School in Royal Oak, 1965. Ted joined the army in June, 1966 and served in Korea as a medic. His employment when returning home to Royal Oak, Michigan was working at Beaumont Hospital in the operating room. He then took employment in Eastern market where he met his wife, Nancy Schoen (nee Fanning) in 1984. Ted and Nancy were married June 14, 1985 and raised 4 children in Royal Oak Michigan. They moved to Chesterfield Michigan in 2016.

Ted loved sports and coached a women's softball team and later coached Royal Oak girls soccer for his children. He also enjoyed doing pig roasts with his partner Ken Schoen. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Nancy Petri; children, Lisa Schlaack (Mike), Chelsea Kalaj (Carl) and Abigail Petri (Rich Sinta); grandchildren, Jason, Drew and Devin Schlaack, Julian, Cassius and Bodhi Kalaj, Harlow Sinta; siblings, Ron Petri (Betsy), Mary Drangin (Barry), Heather Berdan (Dave) and Holly Phillips (Tom), sister-in-law, Laurel Crawford (Brian) along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding his death were parents, his stepson Christian Schoen, brothers Roger Petri, Dan Petri, and Peter Petri.

Ted's final resting place will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.

A private memorial will be held in July, 2024.
