Steven John Shorkey, age 57 of Clinton Township, passed away Thursday afternoon at McLaren Macomb, Mount Clemens. He was born December 22, 1965 to Kryan (Hibbert) and Albert Shorkey in Santa Cruz, California.

Steven enjoyed music, and baseball and especially loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered by his friends and family as a sweet, kind and gentle soul, always willing to put the needs of others above himself. He was a 1984 graduate of Mount Clemens High School, and earned an associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Michigan Technological University in 1986.

Surviving are his parents, Al and Kryan Shorkey; brother, David (Sarah) Shorkey; niece, Alexandra Shorkey and nephew, Jack Shorkey. Steven was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey on November 7, 1995.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. (in state 11:00), Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with Father Christopher Muer officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses. In addition, doing kind and loving acts for others in his memory would bring his friends and family much comfort during this time.
