Obituary

Sandra Marlene Nettleton, 74, of Clinton Twp., Michigan, was taken home by her Lord January 4, 2020. Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada on August 20, 1945, she – along with her parents Jack and Kay Fallis (deceased) – emigrated to the United States before her first birthday. Proud of her family and U.S. citizenship, Sandra (San) was a passionate patriot who married her lifelong love U.S. Marine Corps. Sergeant Harley (Bud) Nettleton November 27, 1965 after a whirlwind courtship. Together they raised two children by whom she is survived, son Donald, Warren, Michigan and daughter Kimberly Mathes (Curt), Melvindale, Michigan.

Energetic, with a ready Irish smile, engaging laugh and genuine interest for whomever she met, Sandra applied those traits in her work and personal life. She was a cosmetics entrepreneur and a top sales person who was promoted to a senior operator all while with AT&T from 1985 until her retirement in 2005. Outside of work San engaged in a vibrant social life. She especially enjoyed sharing her positive outlook with her family and many friends, surprising them with heartfelt gifts she thought would delight and uplift them.

In addition to her two children, Sandra is survived by Bud, her loving husband of 54 years. Oldest of five sisters, she was preceded in passing by her sibling Ivena (Bill) Palm, and is survived by sisters Patricia Billesdon, Cyndi (Jim) Gill and Donna (Barry) Yamaji. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Proud Grandmother of Jason (Amber) Blanton, Tristan Mathes and Peyton Mathes. Great-Grandmother of Noah Harley Blanton.
