Mrs. Ruth Ann D'Hondt, age 85 of Clinton Twp., passed away Tuesday afternoon at Lakepointe Senior Care, Clinton Township.

She was born November 27, 1931 in Roseville, Michigan, a daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Meier) Eckhout. On January 14, 1950, Ruth Ann was united in marriage with Albert Alidor D'Hondt in St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens. Al D'Hondt passed away on Saturday, March 21, 1992 in Warren. Ruth Ann had lived at her Clinton Township address since 1956.

Ruth Ann was a member of St. Thecla Catholic Church in Clinton Township. She was very proud to be the mother of her eight children and enjoyed gardening, sewing, ceramics and especially shopping.

Ruth Ann is survived by her children; Edward (Sally), Charlene (Terry) Johnson, Vicky (Paul) Sanfield, Karen Meade, Gary (Theresa), Bonnie (Joseph) Tompkins, and Linda (Phil) Roberts; 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; her sister, Marion (Gary) Stagner, and son-in-law, Eugene Meade. Ruth Ann was predeceased by daughter, Christine (John) Wondero, and three brothers, Joseph, Jack and James.

Visiting hours are on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens, Michigan.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. (in state 9:30), Saturday at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 South Nunneley Road, Clinton Township, Mcihigan.
