Russell Dunn VanHouten, III

Mr. Russell Dunn "R.D." VanHouten, III, of Grosse Point Woods,  passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 after complications from a lung infection. He was surrounded by the people who loved him most.

He was born on April 19, 1988 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Russell Dunn and Tracy (Stewart) VanHouten, Jr.

R.D. attended Notre Dame Prep School, Rochester College and Specs Howard School of Media Arts. He loved the years he spent working at Q100 Radio in Grayling and especially loved having his own music show. He left Grayling to work with his dad, Buzz, at New Radio Media in Farmington, MI. He was very grateful for the opportunities and to those that provided them.

R.D. was an accomplished artist and musician. He loved skiing, golf, music festivals, a good documentary (he was always a conspiracy theorist!) and all dogs. He especially loved his canine side kick and partner in crime, Jackson, who was waiting for him in heaven.

We will forever miss his sense of humor, quick wit and turn of phrase. His beautiful blue eyes are sparkling and his smile is lighting up heaven. R.D. is now at peace in God's loving arms with his beloved grandparents and dogs.

Visiting hours are on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. (in state from 10:00 a.m. until time of service) at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 37000 Union Lake Road, Harrison Township with Pastor Gerry Udell LLM, officiating. R.D.'s cremated remains will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery, New Baltimore.
