Russel John Kruger, age 55 of Mount Clemens, passed away early Friday morning at Harper University Hospital, Detroit. He was born April 26, 1964 to Dennis D. and Fern L. (Devantier) Kruger in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

Mr. Kruger was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Cold War from 1985 - 1989. Russel was employed as a truck driver at LaGrasso Brothers Produce for two years, he also worked at Gus' Coney Island in Chesterfield. Russel was a Cub Scout Leader, and enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, shooting, bow hunting and listening to music.

Surviving are his children, Sarah Kruger, Dennis C. Kruger; mother, Fern Kruger; fiancé, Terri McKay; siblings, Norman D. Kruger, Sheri (Eric) Buechel; step-daughter, Morgan Johnson; step-sons, Benjamin Bland, Matthew (Allison) Bland, Steven Bland; step-grandchildren, Tyler Bland, Dominic Bland, Paige Bland, Collin Bland, Josephine Bland and Brennan Bland. Russel was predeceased by his father, Dennis D. Kruger.

Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service time of 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens. Reverend Michail Curro will officiate the funeral.

Burial with military honors will follow at Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township.
