Robert Roy Smith, age 89 of Mount Clemens, passed away December 14, 2021 at McLaren Macomb, Mount Clemens.

He was born March 1, 1932 to Roy and Edna (Bischoff) Smith in Detroit, Michigan. On October 4, 1954 Robert was married to Donna L. Schluentz.

Mr. Smith was employed as a welder at Consumers Power for 36 years until his retirement. Bob built race cars as a hobby and was a race fan, watching his son, David race at Mount Clemens Race Track. He and his wife, Donna spent winters in Zephyrhills, Florida, where in 2007 Bob became a member of the Zephyrhills Shuffleboard Club. He improved his shuffleboard game to the point of playing in local Area, District and State tournaments. He made State Am in 2012 and acquired enough points to earn his Pro status.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Theresa (Garry) Kastelan, Robert (Margaret) Smith and David (Dana) Smith; grandchildren, Gregory, Lindsay, Carl, Chelsea and Taylor; great grandchildren, Sofia, Jose, Mariah, Andrew and Quentin. Bob was predeceased by siblings, Betty and Gary.
