Robert John Maurer, age 92 a lifelong resident of Mount Clemens, passed away Tuesday afternoon at McLaren Macomb, Mount Clemens.

He was born January 8, 1928 to Robert D. and Theresa M. (Alore) Maurer in Mount Clemens. On August 14, 1948 Robert was united in marriage with Florence I. Thurman at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Clemens.

Mr. Maurer served in the United States Army during World War II, and was employed at Willy Sign Company in Mount Clemens for over thirty years. He was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed drawing, oil painting, wood carving, and doing science experiments.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert (Ann Marie) Maurer, Deborah Ann (John) Gerstner and Nancy Louise Sears (Dave Pioszak); 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and brothers, Frederick Maurer and William Maurer. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence on May 5, 2001.

Private burial services will be held at Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township.
