Robert D. Grassa Sr., age 84 of Harrison Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township.

He was born April 29, 1937 to Frederick and Clara (Kryston) Grassa in Detroit, Michigan. On May 2, 1959 Robert was united in marriage with Donna Hart at St. Josaphat Catholic Church, Detroit.

Mr. Grassa was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserves, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed going to the casino.

Surviving is his wife, Donna; children, Robert (Michelle) Grassa Jr., John (Kathy) Grassa and Colleen (Dan) Burke; grandchildren, Megan, Melissa, Matt, Robert J., Jonathon, Emily and Sarah; great grandchildren, Landon, Isaac, Addison, Harrison, Leona, and his sister, Barbara McCarthy. Robert was predeceased by siblings, Fred, Tommy and Shirley.

Visiting hours are 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2021 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. (in state 10:30) Tuesday at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Perentiss, Harrison Township with Father Doug Bignall officiating. Private burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Clinton Township

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
