Rita (Weber) Stead, age 79, of Harrison Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 15, 1946, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ina (Tasker) Weber. Rita grew up in a close family with her late sisters Edine Morales, Marie (Walter) Wall, and Carol (Don) Borngesser, and her brother David (Carol) Weber, who survives her.

On November 2, 1991, she married the love of her life, the late Gary W. Stead, and together they shared 27 wonderful years of marriage. Rita and Gary loved boating on the Great Lakes aboard their beloved Park Avenue and spending time with friends at local yacht clubs.

Rita cherished every moment spent with her family — Paula (Sal) Zerillo, Vicky (Morgan) VanHoose, and Penny (Gary) Head — her grandchildren Sal, Frank, Katlyn, Amanda, Ashley, Lauren, Steven, and Gary, and great-grandchildren Alina, Leland, London, and Jonah. She was also a devoted aunt to Eric (Greg) Morales, Rita Flores, Tina (Brian) DeCaussin, Stacie (Ivory) Wall-Jackson, Lisa (Rob) Wetzel, Jenny Weber, Dawn Weber and Robert Parsons, and loved visits with her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Rita will also be reunited with her five beloved dogs — Geo, Stormie, Nellie, Cruiser, Bailey, and cat, Betsy — who brought her years of joy, companionship, and unconditional love.

She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, love for animals, love of football, and devotion to family and friends.

Visiting hours are from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., (funeral service to begin at 6:00) Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.
