Raymond Thomas Shovan

Mr. Raymond T. Shovan, age 91 of Clinton Township, passed away on Friday morning at his home.

He was born on December 1, 1927 in Chesterfield Township, a son of the late William and Viola (LaCroix) Shovan. On August 1, 1953, Ray was united in marriage with Leona Meldrum at St. Mary, Queen of Creation Catholic Church in new Baltimore.

Ray had worked at General Dynamics until his retirement. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 1794 in Mount Clemens. Ray was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens. He enjoyed painting on canvas, riding his motorcycle, boating and snow skiing.

Ray is survived by his wife, Lee; daughter, Cindy (Ken) Guldi and grandson, Kurt Guldi. Ray was predeceased by three brothers, James, Louis and Gerald.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. (in state at 11:00 a.m.) at St. Peter Catholic Church 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Father Michael N. Cooney officiating. Private burial will follow at Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township.
