Myrene Iva Petitpren passed away peacefully on December 14, 2018 with her family by her side. She was a beloved mother, adored sister, proud grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born to the late Lloyd and Nina (Sherwood) Quick, and grew up with 8 siblings in Romeo, Michigan. Born October 11, 1919, Myrene just celebrated her 99th birthday.

Myrene was the devoted and loving wife of the late Stanley F. Petitpren. They married on March 17, 1939 and enjoyed 77 years together. Myrene and Stanley were avid travelers. They shared a fascination with the West and spent 35 years wintering in Arizona. Forever young at heart, Myrene adored teddy bears, dolls, and dollhouses. Her creative spirit soared in the kitchen, particularly when it came to baking fancy desserts. Family gatherings were made sweeter by her presence in every respect. Myrene also enjoyed observing nature, especially birds and wildflowers, and walked four miles daily well into her nineties. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Clemens.

Myrene is survived by children Dean (Diane) Petitpren and Maureen Petitpren; grandchildren Brad (Jennifer) Petitpren, Marci (Timothy) Wahl, and Kristi Petitpren; and eight great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Mack (the late Joan) Quick, Mary Jean (the late Neil) Vandernoot, Allene (the late Carl) Johnson, Pete (Mary) Quick, and the late Wesley, Charles, Jim, and Dean Quick, and dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 168 Cass Avenue, Mount Clemens, MI 48043. A private Memorial Service will be held for Myrene at a future date.

Cremation services for Mrs. Petitpren are entrusted to the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home.
