Mitchell Joseph Zombek

Mr. Mitchell J. Zombek, age 87 of Harrison Township, passed away Friday morning at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township.

He was born on April 28, 1934 in Hamtramck, Michigan, a son of the late Walter and Genevieve (Ivan) Zombek. On April 30, 1955, Mitchell was united in marriage with Dorothy Mary Bizon in St. Veronica Catholic Church in East Detroit. Dorothy passed away on November 8, 2003. Mitchell had lived at his present address since 1973.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Clinton Township. He retired as a warehouse manager at Arctic Cold Storage in 1999. He raised pigeons, enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Mr. Zombek is survived by 5 children, Jean (William) Kinney, Donald (Claudia) Zombek, Mitchell A. Zombek, Victoria (Brian) Coleman and Terese (Jason) Gretel; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; his sister, Casmira (Edward) Dobrzycki. Mitchell was predeceased by a sister, Wanda Kreps.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens;

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 10:00 am (in state at 9:30 am) at St. Louis Catholic Church, 24415 Crocker Boulevard, Clinton Township 48036 with the Reverend Father Bill Siebert officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
