Michael George Farah
May 30, 1951 to June 28, 2024
Born in Mount Clemens to George and Rita Farah, Big Mike was one of six children. At a very early age started honing his comedic talent, often with the help of his siblings Gary, Anita, Joe, Mary and Kevin. Mike had a million jokes, and you could walk up to him and just blurt out a subject and instantly he would tell you a joke about it. I feel that he truly missed his calling and should have been in show business. Mike went to school at St. Mary's in Mount Clemens and played football where he made lifelong friends and attended nearly every class reunion. During life Mike worked for the Macomb County Road Commission, Tower Bus, John's Lumber and finally the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center. In his free time Mike loved to hunt, spending many a day with his best friend Lenny Lamm hunting, fishing or just getting a bite to eat. Mike also loved bird watching and had a bird encyclopedia next to his chair in the living room where he would watch his bird feeders waiting for his next new flying friend to arrive so he could thumb through that book and identify them. Mike's generosity was big too as he would give you the shirt off his back and many times over did just that. One of his other favorite things to do was to go out to eat and scan the restaurant. He would find a veteran, an old couple or a young family that looked like they could use a smile and pay their bill. He never once let the recipient know who it was that paid for their meal. He didn't do it for accolades, he did it just to be kind and to pay it forward. Mike learned this from his dad who was equally generous.
Mike will be greatly missed by his wife Margrette, sons Daniel (Kristy) and Andrew (Jennifer) and grandsons Jack, Mickey and Woody.
Funeral will be held at St. Peters Church at 11am July 19, 2024. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery following the service with a celebration of life luncheon immediately following back at St. Peter's Church.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you do the following: Next time you are out to eat at a restaurant, buy a meal if you can or even just a coffee for someone you don't know and think of Big Mike.
