Mary M. Swaney, age 94 of Clinton Township, passed away early Monday morning at home.

She was born June 8, 1932 to Edward and Magdalena (Brege) Anklam in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. On May 16, 1953 Mary was united in marriage with George Swaney at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Roseville.

Mary was employed as a secretary for the Mount Clemens Schools, and volunteered for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting, traveling, and especially loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Gale Swaney, Kenneth (Valerie) Swaney and Donna (Eric) Willey; grandchildren, Melissa (Donald) Malkowski, Hilary (Tomasz) Kostus, Brett (Ashley Bennett) Swaney, Abigail Swaney and Sarah Willey, and great grandchildren, Gracie, Madeleine, Cole, Benjamin, Alexander, Delilah, Finn and Ainsley. Mary was predeceased by her husband, George in 1973, and siblings, Dorothy, Donald, Delbert, Gus and Jeanette.

Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

A funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.
