Obituary

Marie Antoinette (Doub) Rozgowski, age 75, of Bellaire, Michigan and longtime resident of Harrison Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully December 4, 2025 at Munson Hospital, Traverse City, Michigan.

The daughter of Buford G. and Hattie C. (Kessler) Doub, Marie spent her childhood in the Detroit-Hamtramck area. During this time, she enjoyed playing tennis, the trumpet and cornet, and hanging out with her friends at Belle Isle. With guidance of Sister Bertha, at the age of 13, she converted to Catholicism. In the 1970s, she moved with her family to Ishpenming, Michigan. Here she made many more life long friends, worked at the Bell Memorial Hospital, learned life long skills of knitting and crocheting under the tutelage of Grace Saari, pasty making, making homemade rootbeer, PTA member, listening to music at the Rendezvous bar, and many more attributes that would deem her as an "Honorary Yooper". In 1977, she relocated to Chesterfield Township, again with her family. During this time, she continued raising and devoting her love to her children, as well as extending her love to many other children in the neighborhood and serving as a Cub Scout leader, girls' softball coach, and school volunteer. She moved to Harrison Township in the '90's where she was an active member of St. Hubert's Catholic Church and volunteered at the fall festivals, crocheting many dolls for giveaways for the festivals, and cleaning the Church and oratory. Marie was a proud member of UAW Local 400 and worked for Ford Motor Company in many capacities; enjoying the most, her roles as an Assistant Education Coordinator and diversity trainer. Marie earned an Associate degree from Baker College. Additionally, she actively volunteered at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, enjoyed gardening, was a huge fan of "Miggy" from the Detroit Tigers, enjoyed rewatching "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World", eating at Three-Stars, listening to Motown music as well as classical music, was artistically talented, known for making the best beer- battered onion rings around, and taught herself to play the piano.

Surviving are her children, Thomas(Allyson) Rozgowski II of Armada, MI and Tammy Anne Rozgowski of Bellaire, MI; grandchildren, Sawyer(Adrianna) Rozgowski, Annika Rozgowski, Mason Rozgowski, and Nicholas K. Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Winry, River, and Brooke Rozgowski; godchildren, Mark Kopytek, David Wade, Christopher Boyd, Anna Rose Putrus, and Scilia Scheuer; sister, Margret Cumming; honorary, adopted- son George(Kumiko) Page, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends who affectionately called her "Bugs", "Auntie", or "Auntie Ria".
