Mr. Marcel R. Wancket, age 87 of Macomb, passed away on Wednesday at Church of Christ Assistant Living in Clinton Township.

He was born on September 16, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Alidor and Valerie (Verougstraete) Wancket. On March 1, 1958, Marcel was united in marriage with Carol Ann Michayluk at St. Peter Catholic Church, Mount Clemens. Mrs. Wancket passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018.

Marcel worked at General Motors as a senior technician. He enjoyed gardening. He served in the United States Army.

Mr. Wancket is survived by two sons, Marcel (Julieane) Wancket Jr. and Ronald Wancket; grandchildren, Christina and Lisa, and great-grandchild, Lucy. Marcel was predeceased by four siblings, Robert, Willie, Omer and Alice Carpenter.

Private burial arrangements entrusted to Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens. Burial was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Township, Michigan.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
