Lucilla Enrica Bigford, age 92 of Macomb, passed away September 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born December 23, 1928 to Hubert and Rita (Wagner) Schopmanns in Solbiate, Italy.  Lucilla met and married Rex Bigford on November 5, 1949 in Germany, after World War II and came to the United States where she was naturalized as a citizen.  She loved her new country and supported her husband during his military career while they raised their children.

Mrs. Bigford was an avid bowler and softball player, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, tending to her flower and vegetable garden, and canning.

Lucilla is survived by her children, Ronald Rex (Cheryl) Bigford, Lucinda Rita (Ray) Shaw and Sandra Eva (Thomas) Sullivan; grandchildren, Melissa Ann (Thomas) Daris, Rebecca Rhiannon (Justin) Starkey, Caitlin Victoria (Joel) Jason and Christopher Sterling (Samantha) Shaw; great grandchildren,Carter Elliot Starkey, Holden Oliver Starkey, Eva Rae Daris, Harper Lucinda Amelie Starkey, Madalena Joellen Jason, Everly James Irie Starkey, Raelyn Paisley Jason, Orion Wilde Starkey, Thomas Daris III, Indigo Louisa Grace Starkey. Stella Lovely Shaw 2 months; sisters, Germana (Walter) Peltzer and Rosilda Zenk; Beloved brother in law William Bigford, sister in law Lucinda Bigford and many beloved nieces and nephews. Lucilla was predeceased by her husband, Rex.

Burial services will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills.
