Louise Elizabeth (Muendelein) Riley, age 81, of Mount Clemens, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025.

Louise was born on February 3, 1944, in Mount Clemens, Michigan to Kurt and Lena (Carl) Muendelein, Sr. She graduated from Mount Clemens High School in 1962 and later earned a degree in nursing from Henry Ford School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan.  Louise spent more than 30 years working as a registered nurse and in the field of nursing informatics.

Louise had a lifelong love of travel.  She lived and worked as a nurse in London, backpacked throughout Europe, skied in the Alps, and later visited Israel, China, Russia, and Egypt, among other places.  At home, she found joy in reading, knitting, and quilting and spending time with friends and family and her beloved cat, Muffin.

Louise is survived by her brother Kurt (Shirley) Muendelein, Jr.; her niece Cindy (Mike) Marsili; her nephew Kurt (Andrea) Muendelein, III; her niece Nicole (Neal) Bakare; and her great nieces and nephews Olivia, Emily, Shelby, Cameron, Leighton, and Connor.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home in Mount Clemens, Michigan.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Louise's memory to your local animal shelter.
