Loretta J. Bernard, age 61 of Chesterfield, passed away July 11, 2022 at her home.

She was born September 12, 1960 to Floyd and Barbara (Harmony) Scott in Mount Clemens, Michigan. On December 31, 1982 Loretta was married to Thomas Edward Bernard in Chesterfield.

Mrs. Bernard was a caregiver to family and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, gardening, bonfires, camping, floral design, traveling (especially to Chicago and Florida), watching murder mysteries and crime shows. Loretta loved spending time with family and friends and adored being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Crystal (Eric) Whitis, Amber Bernard and Jade Bernard; grandchildren, Seth, Silas, Jaelin, Parker, Grace, Brayden and Avianna; siblings, Nancy (Clyde) Gibbons and Malcolm (Sandy) Scott, and her cat, June Bug. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Barbara Scott.

Visiting hours are 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2022 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. A funeral procession will follow for Loretta's burial at Meade Cemetery.
