Obituary

Lillian Rose Finn, age 64 of Clay Township, passed away September 17, 2023 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township.

She was born February 11, 1959 to Ethal (Bartlette) and Thomas Whalen in Long Island, New York. Her Aunt Dot was a second mother to Lily, who helped raise her and influence her life for the better.  On August 29, 2000 Lily was united in marriage with Robert Finn in Warren, Michigan.

Lily was employed at Lamb Technicon Corporation in Warren until retiring in 2008, she then worked as an executive secretary at Kramer Triad until 2012.

Lily's dream came true in 2009 when her and Bob purchased Johnnie Lega's Restaurant & Tavern in Clay, Michigan.

Lily enjoyed golfing, bowling and boating. She especially enjoyed taking her beloved dogs, Kirby and Opi to stay on the boat with her. Lily was a good cook. Family and friends enjoyed her lasagna and apple pie that she made with apples from her neighbor's tree. Bob especially loved her meatloaf. Her favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas, and she really enjoyed dressing up Lega's for each occasion, making a special fun atmosphere for all of her patrons.

Lily was very proud of being the first one in her family to earn a college degree. Everyone will remember her infectious laugh.

Surviving is her husband, Bob; brothers, Thomas Whalen and Richard Whalen, and sister, Kathleen Whalen. She was predeceased by her parents, Ethal and Thomas Whalen; sister, Geraldine Funk, and Aunt Dot.
