Mrs. Julia Irene Miller, age 96, of Mount Clemens passed away at her home on Monday, September 24, 2018.

She was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa on July 26, 1922 to the late Lloyd and Hattie Schaeffer. On February 12, 1944 she was united in marriage with William F. Miller II at Gilbert Memorial Baptist Church in Mount Clemens. Mr. Miller passed away on January 31, 2011.

After raising her family, Julia went back to school at the age of 50 and became a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Crosspoint Church in Mount Clemens and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was active in the Naomi Circle at church and enjoyed quilting lap quilts for veterans.

Julia is survived by her six children Jeanne (Roy) Duvall, Frederick W. Miller, Susan Marie Miller, Andrew L. Miller, Joann L. (Patrick) Elsey, and William F. Miller III; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two siblings Calvin Schaeffer and Ramona Ferdin.

A visitation will take place on October 5, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens, MI 48043.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Ledbetter officiating.

A private burial will take place at Clinton Grove Cemetery, in Clinton Township, Michigan where Mrs. Miller will be laid to rest.
