Josephine Theresa Failla, age 93 of Macomb, passed away Monday morning at Shelby Crossing, Shelby Township.

She was born November 17, 1929 to Peter and Mary (Yandura) Jablonski in Detroit, Michigan. On October 8, 1949 Josephine was united in marriage with Frank Failla at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Detroit.

Josephine was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Mount Clemens and the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, and Knight of Columbus Council 744 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, cultural activities, baking (especially banana nut bread), and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Alan (Peggy) Failla, Susan (Thomas) Jekielek, Carol (Howard) Smith and Betty Lou (Thomas) Szczotka; 15 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 2008, and siblings, Betty Lou, Teddy and Rosemarie.

Visiting hours are 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (with at 7:00 p.m. Rosary), Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. (in state 11:00a.m.) Friday, May 12 2023 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with Father John Maksym officiating.

Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
