Mr. John Henry Schutt, age 69 of Dearborn Heights, passed away on Monday at Optalis Health & Rehab Center in Sterling Heights.

He was born on December 29, 1954 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, a son of the late Gaylord and Katherine (Burback) Schutt. On March 5, 1988, John was united in marriage with Linda Guy. Linda passed away on August 14, 2013 in Garden City.

John was a Elder for many years at St. John Lutheran Church in Taylor.

John retired from the Chrysler Corporation.  He was a member of the UAW, enjoyed classic car shows and showing his 1968 Red Dodge Dart at Greenfield Village Car Show.

John is survived by his siblings, Henry (Lark), August, Ernest (Sharon), Katherine Parr, Alfred (Terry), Wanda Sampson, Jeffrey (Laurie), Lemual (Melissa), Earl (Kimberly), Anna (Richard) Rhein, and many nieces and nephews.  John was predeceased by siblings, Delores Harm, Jeanette Coulon, Gaylord Jr., Joyce Martis and Caroline Bayles.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:30 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 13115 Telegraph Road, Taylor, MI 48180 with the Reverend Dr. Richard Zeile officiating.

Burial will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at Centennial Cemetery in the Village of New Haven, Michigan
