John Charles Blackburn, age 66 of Macomb, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home.
He was born June 24, 1950 to Roger and Rita Elaine (Goddeeris) Blackburn in Detroit, Michigan. On February 17, 1978 John was united in marriage with Deborah Vernier at St. Louis Catholic Church, Clinton Township.
Mr. Blackburn was employed for 28 years at Faygo Beverage Company before his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed coaching his sons in football, baseball and soccer, playing golf, watching sports on TV, yard work, meeting friends at Willie's Donut Shop, taking care of the family dogs, and especially spending summers at the family cottage in Dorset, Ontario with his extended Canadian family.
John is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Ryan (Amanda) Blackburn, Randall (Sara) Blackburn and Robert Blackburn; grandchildren, Madilyn, Kaitlyn and Bryan and sisters, Mary Candace (William) Carter, Judith (Gary) Cordell and Jane Dalton. Mr. Blackburn was predeceased by his parents, Roger and Rita Elaine.
Visiting hours are 2 - 9 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.
Funeral mass 9:00 a.m. (in state 8:30), Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with Father Michael N. Cooney officiating.
