Joan E. Brownlie, age 81 of Clinton Township, passed away Wednesday evening at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township.
She was born July 26, 1935 to George and Elizabeth (Daniels) Hammond in Detroit, Michigan. On April 3, 1959 Joan was united in marriage with Kenneth Brownlie in Detroit.
Mrs. Brownlie was an avid reader, and enjoyed bowling, solving crossword puzzles, watching the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.
Surviving is her husband, Kenneth; children, Kenneth (Pam) Brownlie, Robert Brownlie, Beth (Matt) Downs and Matthew Brownlie; grandchildren, Ryan Brownlie, Alyssa (Mike) Duche, Ashley Brownlie, Alexis Brownlie, Nolan Downs, Evan Downs, and great grandson, Dominick Duche. Joan was predeceased by her brother, David Hammond.
Visiting hours are 3 - 9 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.
Funeral service 11:00 a..m., Monday at the funeral home with Reverend Mark Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.
