Mrs. Janet H. Strevel, age 88 of Clinton Township, passed away on Friday at McLaren-Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens.

She was born on October 16, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Anthony and Jeni Schaffer. On April 21, 1956, Janet was united in marriage with Norman John Strevel. He died on December 6, 2003.

Janet was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Mount Clemens, she enjoyed gardening and was a long time AVON sales lady.

Mrs. Strevel is survived by 3 children, Kent (Roxanne) Strevel, Lori Ann (Ernest) Simon and Lisa Strevel-Fischer. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy) Hudson, Matthew (Sarah) Simon, Mackenzie Fischer and Dawson Fischer; 2 great grandchildren, Elijah and Micah, and her special dog friend, Diamond. Janet was predeceased by a son, Kurt Strevel, and 2 siblings, Kae Millington and Edward Schaffer.

Visiting hours are on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233. Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens.

Funeral service will he held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. (in state at 9:00 a.m.) at Grace Episcopal Church, 115 South Main Street, Mount Clemens with Pastor Steven Steinberger-Domienik officiating. Private burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in Armada.
