James Searle Murray, age 91 of Harrison Township, passed away Monday evening at the Orchards of Armada.

He was born June 17, 1934 to Edward M. and Lois R. (Rathell) Murray in Detroit, Michigan. James was united in marriage on June 25, 1955 with Nancy Lou MacDonald in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

James was a veteran of the United States Army. For over thirty years he was employed as a tool maker for Cadillac Motor Car. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, hunting and fishing. James was a man who helped anybody with anything they needed. He especially loved helping his grandchildren with their projects.

Surviving are his sons, Butch (Heather) Murray, Tom (Dawn) Murray and Dan (Stacy) Murray; grandchildren, Shannon, Rebecca, Emily, Evan, Halle, Briana, and great grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey and Harper. James was predeceased by his wife, Nancy on August 10, 2025 and sister, Nancy Cantner.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
