James Milton May Sr., age 85 of Macomb, passed away early Friday morning at McLaren Macomb, Mount Clemens.

He was born June 17, 1939 to Wilbur and Alta (Robbins) May in Algonac, Michigan. On October 17, 1959 James was united in marriage with Janet LaCroix in Mount Clemens.

Mr. May served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed by Macomb Underground and was a member of the AmVets Post #72, American Legion Post #4, and the Detroit Choir Boys. James enjoyed maintaining his 10 acres of land.

Surviving are his children, Mary (Troy) King and James May Jr.; grandchildren, John (Amanda) Boerder Sr., Holly (Steve) Watson, Desiree` (Jason) Prince, Troy (Zachary) King Jr., Mishel` (Jimmy) Shepherd and Davon May; great grandchildren, John Jr., Sierra, Erica, Donovan, Hazel, Rowan, Honz, Freya, Wyatt, Elliott, Emmett and Rhett. James was predeceased by his wife, Janet in 1995; son, Wilbert May in 2021, and siblings, Beverly, Sue, Roy, Kenny, Charles and JoEllen.

Visiting hours are 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Meade Cemetery.
