James C. Martinez, age 78 of Brownstown Township, formerly of Mount Clemens, passed away Monday evening at Heartland Health Care Center, Allen Park. He was born April 10, 1938 to Jesus and Maria (Chavez) Martinez in SanAntonio, Texas.
Mr. Martinez was employed by the Chrysler Corporation for thirty years before his retirement on December 31, 2000. He enjoyed bowling, watching sports and going to the casino.
Surviving are his children, David (Elena) Martinez and Diana (David) Wasmund; grandchildren, Amber, Patricia, Elizabeth (Joshua), Mario Jr., Trevor and Dana; great grandchildren, Michael, Davee and Enzo; ex wife, Florence Martinez, and siblings, Jesus Martinez, Dave Martinez, Pauline Stephens, Juanita Silagi, Mary Coronado and Lupe (David) Burciaga. James was predeceased by his parents, Jesus and Maria and brothers, Delfino, Mike and Joseph.
Visiting hours are 2 - 9 p.m. (7:00 Rosary) Friday, June 10, 2016 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.
Funeral mass 11:00 a.m. (in state 10:30) Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with Father Michael N. Cooney officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Clinton Township.
