James A. Houthoofd, (Jim) Age 89, of Clinton Township, MI, passed away surrounded by loving family on March 5, 2019.

He was born April 27,1929 to Charles and Agnes Houthoofd, in Mt. Clemens, MI.

Jim was united in marriage for over 60 years to Gloria (Peltier) marrying on September 6 ^th 1958, at St. Peters Catholic Church, in Mt. Clemens, MI.

Jim was a lifelong member of St. Peters Church, where he was recently honored as an usher of 72 years as well as an original member of the Knights of Columbus Council 744.

A Sales Representative for New York Life Insurance Company for 35 years, Jim's passions included real estate, boating, fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Jim always enjoyed helping out friends and sharing time with family on the boat or at the cottage. Jim took pride in cultivating Michigan State Fair award winning fruit trees with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria, children, Pamela Horn, James (Nancy) and Julie (Keith-dec.) Grant as well as grandchildren Christopher and Katherine Horn and Healy and Claire Grant and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents Charles and Agnes Houthoofd, siblings Bernard (Dorothy) and Charles (Rose) and Mildred (Robert) Lietaert.

Visitation hours at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral home, 233 North Gratiot, are Thursday March 7, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, 100 New Street, Mt. Clemens, MI and will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 8, with instate, and Funeral service at 11:30 a.m.
