Mrs. Connie Porter, age 90 of Clinton Township, passed away Saturday afternoon at McLaren-Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens.

She was born on March 28, 1926 in Beatrice, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Overlees) Gierhart. On August 12, 1967, Connie was united in marriage with Kenneth Porter in Pelkey, Michigan.

Connie was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Mount Clemens. She enjoyed making ceramics and was an avid gardener.

Connie is survived by her husband, Ken and children, Wade (Anita) Chandler, David Porter and Jay (Lori) Porter; siblings, Mary (Herb) Hansel and Wayne (Louise) Gierhart; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Connie was predeceased by her brother, Dean Gierhart.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 3-8:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens.

A funeral service will be on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:00a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Scott Davis, Pastor of Zion United Church of Christ officiating.

Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Township, Michigan.
