Mr. Henry E. Russell, age 88 of Harrison Township, passed away on Sunday afternoon at his home.

He was born on July 2, 1928 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Peltier) Russell. On November 12, 1955, Henry was united in marriage with Ruth Black in St. Louis Catholic Church in Clinton Township. Henry served in the United States Navy and the UnitedStates Army.

He worked as a truck driver, and in shipping and receiving at Lionel Trains Company. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chesterfield Township. Henry enjoyed fishing and wood working.

Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Ruth; two children, Julie (Marc) Wancket, and Joseph (Valeria) Russell; and his grandson, Jonathan Ray (Abra) Russell. Henry was predeceased by his loving grandson, Matthew Joseph Russell; nine siblings, William, Clifford (Tippy), Harold Jr., Charles and Arnold (Connie), MaryLou, Stella, Peggy Spering, and Virginia Peltier.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens with Reverend David M. Ulm officiating. Private cremation will follow.
