George Henry De Schepper, age 87 of Harrison Township passed away early Saturday morning at his home.

He was born August 13, 1931 to Henry and Margaret (Marchand) De Schepper in Detroit, Michigan. On April 27, 1963 George was united in marriage with Sally Ann Clark at St. John Berchmans Church, Detroit.

Mr. De Schepper served from 1952 until 1954 in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a manager at United Wholesale Grocery Company for 35 years. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and in his younger years playing baseball and basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Diane (Michael) Nelson, Donna (Stephen) Craw, Paul (Karen) De Schepper; grandchildren, Erin and Nicholas Nelson, Benjamin and Margaret Craw, Kayla and Jacob De Schepper. George was predeceased by his siblings, Omer De Schepper and Mary Verfaillie.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2019 until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Gary Richard officiating at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hart Cemetery, 53873 Chesterfield Road, Chesterfield Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Food Pantry, Clinton Township.
