Dr. Frank T. Rastigue, DDS, age 84 of Mount Clemens, passed away Thursday morning at McLaren-Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens.

Frank was born July 9, 1938 in Mount Clemens, a son of the late Martha (Thomas) and George Rastigue Sr.

Frank was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Mount Clemens. In 1960, he graduated from St. Joseph College in Indiana with a B.S. degree, with a double major in Biology and Chemistry. In 1964, earned a D.D.S. degree from Loyola University in Chicago and was honored with admission in the Phi Betta Kappa of the Dental Profession, and earned the Operative Dentistry award. In 1966 he completed two years in the United States Army as a Captain of the Dental Corps.

Dr. Rastigue was a member of the Macomb County Dental Society, Detroit District Dental Society, Michigan State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, Academy of Operative Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and a member of Northwestern University's Paul Dawson Operative Dentistry Study Club, and the Old Crowd. Dr. Rastigue has been practicing in Mount Clemens since 1966. It has been a family general dental practice, with an emphasis on prevention, and advanced restorative care which emphasizes the use of indirect and direct gold. It is the latter (gold foil) for which Dr. Rastigue was most proud.

Dr. Rastigue is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy and three children, Lisa Rastigue, Dr. Steven (Kim) Rastigue, DDS and John (Kerry) Rastigue; grandson, Jack Rastigue and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, George Rastigue Jr.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 3:00 pm until the time of Rosary Service at 5:00 pm at the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1:30 pm (in state at 1:00 pm) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Father John Maksym officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, Mount Clemens.
