Eugene Stoneberg

Mr. Eugene Stoneberg, age 92 of Harrison Township, passed away  Friday morning at home under hospice care.

He was born  May 4, 1929 in Cool Spring, Pennsylvania, a son of the late John and Sara (Stahlman) Stoneberg. On September 6, 1972, he was united in marriage  with Joyce Amiels at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Township.

Gene served in the United States Army as a corporal during the Korean Conflict. He retired as as supervisor at Michigan Bell Telephone Company.

He was a elected President and Life member of the Lions Club, President of the Model A restorative club at Greenfield Village, and a member of the Silver Dollar Club in Harrison Township. An avid reader of Western Books and enjoyed wood working.

Mr. Stoneberg is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce and 2 daughters, Ann (Leslie Halsey) Stoneberg and Cheryl (Marc) Zemsta; a grandson, Nicholas (Michelle Voccia) Zemsta and his beloved dog, Captain. Gene was predeceased by 7 siblings, Kenneth, Everett, Edward, Marlin, Shirley States, Nellie Morris and Emma Burkett.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday December 28, 2021 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens.

Funeral Eulogy service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow to Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills with Full Military Honors.
