Elsie Sinius Gibson (Clausen), age 82, of Chesterfield, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Serenity Village Assisted Living surrounded by family after a long illness. She was born February 6, 1938 in Roseville, Michigan to the late Valdemar and Emmy Clausen. Elsie was a 1956 graduate of Mount Clemens High School and worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years. She also retired from Meijer in 2000. Elsie loved animals and cared for many pets throughout her life. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and her Tweety Bird collection. She had a passion for gardening and taking care of plants and saved many plants along the way. Elsie loved spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren, who will miss her so much.

Elsie is survived by her children: Jack (Diane) Gibson Jr., Karen (Leon) Huntoon, Constance (Donald) Peurach, and Barb (John) Anderson, grandchildren: Stephanie Huntoon, Brandon (Claire) Huntoon, Erik Anderson, Bryan Anderson, and Brianna Peurach, great-grandson Bradley Huntoon, and many extended family members. Elsie was predeceased by Jack W. Gibson, her parents, and brother John Clausen. Elsie's children would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Serenity Village for the amazing job they did taking care of their beloved mother. Arrangements are in the care of Will & Schwarzkoff Funeral Home. Elsie will be inurned at Clinton Grove Cemetery; a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
