Elizabeth Jane Berger, age 92 of Clinton Township, passed away Monday evening at Church of Christ Care Center, Clinton Township.

She was born May 1, 1924 to William C. and Marie (Schwarzkoff) Boettcher in Pontiac, Michigan. On February 23, 1946 Elizabeth married Richard G. Berger at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton Township.

Mrs. Berger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide, Young Women's League, and the Lutheran Children's Friends Society, where she served as State President for a term. Elizabeth was employed as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital East, Mount Clemens. She was the ultimate homemaker, and enjoyed being active at church and bible study.

Surviving are her children, Paul E. (Wendy) Berger, Susan M. (Steve) Lawrence, Patricia A. Berger, Karen M. (Patrick) Garvey and Daniel C. (Linda) Berger; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; siblings, James F. Boettcher, Ruth M. Mannel and Margaret vonLinsowe, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Richard G. Berger, July 18, 1997.

Visiting hours are 2 - 9 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township. The Berger family will continue with a memorial service for Elizabeth at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Wellspring Lutheran Auxiliary: Chapter 6 or the Hardt-Rathe Fund.
