Eldred "Al" E. Champine, 86, a resident of Fraser, Michigan, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home in Fraser. He was born January 10th, 1931 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan; the son of the late Eldred Charles Champine and Mildred (Rose) Champine.  On June 18, 1960, Al was united in marriage with Barbara L. Carlos.  Mrs. Champine passed away on Friday, February 27, 1998 in Harrison Township.  Al retired as an Inspector with the Macomb County Sheriff Department after 30 years of Public Service.

Mr. Champine is survived by two children; his son, Eldred "Buz" (Dianne) of Chesterfield, Michigan; daughter, Elisa (John) Weisgerber of Lewiston, Michigan; five grandchildren, Jamie (Brian) Kress; Heather (John) Thelen; Zachary, Micaela & Brendan Champine; two great grandchildren; Shawn & Addison (Jamie/Brian) Kress; Sister; Harriet (David) Ramm.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16 in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, with Pastor Timothy Helland officiating. A private burial will follow in Clinton Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton Township.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society of Michigan.
