Edward Richard Maison

Mr. Edward R. Maison, age 95 of Armada, Michigan, passed away on Monday evening at Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility in Mount Clemens.
Edward was born on February 21, 1921 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of the late Edmund Richard and Louise Ann (LaForest) Maison. He was a respected horse owner-breeder of Thoroughbreds. He enjoyed Fishing, and golfing.
He was commissioned in January 1944 at Corpus Christi, Texas as a Naval Aviator. He then spent nine months in the Pacific with the Black Cats, a night bombing squadron which was awarded a unit citation for an outstanding record. Lt. Maison completed 50 missions and in addition to the citation, holds the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with four battle stars, the Philippine campaign ribbon, the American Theatre ribbon and the Victory medal.
Mr. Maison is survived by his niece, Mary Louise Daner.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St.Peter Catholic Church, 95 Church Street, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Father Michael N. Cooney officiating. Private cremation will follow.
