Doris Jean Winkler, age 84, of Warren, Michigan passed away Thursday at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Doris was born on March 3, 1933 to the late Harvey and Ruby (Stallwood) Winkler in St. Louis, Missouri. At six years old she was diagnosed with Polio, and beat the disease and became a Polio survivor. She retired from the City of Detroit after 32 years of service as a secretary for the Police Academy. She enjoyed and loved spending time with her family and her cats.

Ms. Winkler is survived by her siblings Edith (Walter) Hinckfoot, Florence Harper, Harvey (Sandra) Winkler, Robert (Carol) Winkler, Richard (Ellen) Winkler, and Carol Szychulski; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings David Winkler and Gayle Cort.

A private cremation has taken place for Doris, and her remains will be laid to rest at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan this spring.
