Donald Alvin Schwark, age 84 of Macomb, passed away Monday afternoon at McLaren Macomb, Mount Clemens.

He was born March 15, 1939 to Alvin and Edna (Martin) Schwark in Macomb Township, Michigan. On August 6, 1960 Donald was united in marriage with Janice Gramzow at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Richmond.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Macomb, where he served as an elder for many years.  His garden was a mission of love for tending God's creation through the flowers he grew as well as the connections he made selling them.  He sold fresh cut flowers, local honey and maple syrup. His strong faith led him to minister to others by devoting time to people who stopped for flowers if they needed a friend or just a kind word.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynnette (Pastor Mark) Boxman; son, Keith (Diane) Schwark; grandchildren, Emily (Matt) Soule, Toni (Pastor Nikolai) Gibbons, Ryan (Karen) Schwark, David (Morgan) Boxman, Lori Schwark, Kristin Boxman and Kyle (Taylor) Schwark; great grandchildren, Levi Schwark, Mayla Gibbons, James Gibbons, Elliott Schwark and one in the oven. Also surviving are his siblings, Marion Sandven, Diane Robertson, Dennis Schwark and Janice Davis. Don was predeceased by his wife Janice on February 17, 2018 and brother, Marvin Schwark.

Visiting hours are 1:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. (in state 10:00), Monday at St. Peter Lutheran Church (corner of 24 Mile and Romeo Plank, Macomb) with Reverend Kurt Wenzelburger and Reverend Mark Arendell officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Macomb
