Donald Robert
Kricho
Aug 10, 1935 — Nov 9, 2020
Donald Robert Kricho, of Macomb, Michigan passed peacefully from this earth on the warm autumn morning of November 9, 2020 at the age of 85.
He was born on August 10, 1935 in St Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Stephen and Marie Kricho. He grew up in the Polish neighborhood of Walnut Park, attending St Adalberts Catholic church with his seven siblings Virginia Harmann, John Kricho, Dianne Lundak, Joe Kricho and the late Rose Marie Kricho, Sylvia Bunk and Carol McEwan. In April 1962, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Rhodes.
Don is survived by his wife Jeanne, his three children Angela (John ) Donabedian, Scott Kricho (Scott Saladino), Cheryl (Kurt) Ehrle; grandchildren Jenna (Ben), Erik and Luke Ehrle, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends around the world.
He took great pride in his service in the US Air Force in the 432d Con Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Shaw AFB as a jet engine mechanic and as a Police Officer with the St Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He maintained lifelong friendships from this period of his life.
Don received a BA in Management from the University of Missouri at St Louis. He was a student of life who traveled the world and enjoyed success and satisfaction in his work as an Occupational Safety Professional for GM and Mazda and as a private consultant. At a point when most would retire, Don founded KRIHOS International LLC with his son Scott and developed a successful computer software application, drawing from his expertise in Management Systems.
Don was an artist, a cook, an historian, a maker, a handyman, an avid St Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and a dreamer.
A large man with a quiet presence and a generous and considerate nature, he taught us to follow our dreams and work to make them come true. We look to our memories now as we allow him to move on to the next phase of life and hold him in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
