Obituary

Debra Jean (Galbraith) Prestriedge, 65, known to friends as 'Red' or 'Deb' passed away on May 12, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Her spirit is carried on by her only daughter Jacqueline (Rex) Agar, her two beautiful grandchildren, Sarah and Rexie, her brother Ernest Galbraith, her best friend of 51 years Theresa Dawson Sago and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and William 'Jack' Galbraith, sister Delores Inez and brothers Billy G. and Joseph. Deb was born on May 20 th , 1952 in Highland Park, MI.

Deb was a fiery redhead with stunning blue eyes and a beautiful smile. She grew up in Clawson, where she walked the streets for a living. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Clawson letter carrier after 26 years. Deb loved her postal customers but she loved retirement more.

Deb was a regular at local homeschool events. She was very involved with her daughter and grandchildren who referred to her lovingly as 'Giga'. She loved traveling, cooking, boating, gardening, good music, concerts, holding babies, spending time with her grandchildren, camping and watching the lake from her deck. She had a special way with children. Deb's final loving act was to give the gift of life through eye, and tissue donation.

A celebration of Deb's life will be held on May 19 th , 2018 with a memorial service starting promptly at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Clemens Masonic Lodge, 65 ½ N Walnut St, Mt Clemens, MI 48043 with Rev. Jim Lee of Renaissance Unity officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Debra may be made to Hospice of Michigan at https://www.hom.org/donations/ .
