Mr. David Hartwell Sr., age 76, of Casco Township passed away on Tuesday at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

David was born on March 3, 1944 to the late Charles and Mildred (Mullenhour) Hartwell in Mount Clemens, Michigan. On August 20, 1966 he was united in marriage to Ruth Johnson in St. Clair Shores. Ruth and David settled in St. Clair Shores together. For the past 20 years the couple lived in Casco Township and they attended Columbus Baptist Church in Columbus, Michigan.

Mr. Hartwell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth; children David Jr. (Shelly), William Michael (Kathy), and Scott Brian; grandchildren Danny (Kimmy), Billy, Christopher, Jacob, and Taylor; and surviving siblings Chuck (Marie), Mary (Gerald), Claudia, and Jean.

A private burial will take place at Christian Memorial Gardens West Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The family will be having a celebration of life at a later date.
