Mrs. Cynthia Gale Matin, age 56, of Chesterfield Township passed away on Friday at her home.

Cynthia was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan on December 29, 1961 to John R. and Rosemary (VanKula) Johns. On May 26, 1982 she was united in marriage with Mike Martin at St. John Luthern Church in New Baltimore, Michigan.

She worked as a school teacher for L'Ance Creuse Public Schools and was a member at St. Mary Queen Of Creation in New Baltimore. She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, boating, spending time with family, and loved all of her pets; dogs Scrappy and Oliver; cats Tooter and Rex; and her bird Rainbow.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband Mike; children Alexandra and Michael; her father John R. Johns; siblings Ann Marie (William) Johnson, Kimberly Lanier, John Johns III, and Mark Johns. Cynthia was predeceased by her mother Rosemary Johns.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens, Michigan 48088. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass for Cynthia will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. (in state at 10:00 a.m.) at St. Mary Queen of Creation, 50931 Maria, New Baltimore, MI 48047 with the Revered Father Louis Lapeyre officiating.

Cynthia will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in New Baltimore, Michigan.
